Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Professional Experience Assessment
Introduction
Technofest Institute of Technology University (TITU) believes that learning does not occur exclusively within the classroom. Many professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, inventors, researchers, and industry experts acquire valuable knowledge, skills, and competencies throughout their careers that may be comparable to formal academic learning outcomes.
Based on internationally recognized Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) principles, TITU provides opportunities for the assessment of professional experience, industrial expertise, research activities, inventions, innovations, specialized training, and career achievements as part of an individual's educational pathway.
Purpose of the RPL Program
The purpose of the RPL program is to identify and evaluate knowledge, competencies, and skills acquired outside formal academic education and to translate them into recognized academic credit within higher education frameworks.
This process enables experienced professionals to continue their educational journey efficiently without unnecessarily repeating learning outcomes they have already achieved through professional practice and lifelong learning.
What Types of Experience Can Be Evaluated?
The following achievements and experiences may be considered during the RPL assessment process:
Executive and management experience
Entrepreneurship and business development activities
Scientific and research achievements
National and international patents and inventions
Scientific publications
Authorship and translation of books
Professional and technical training programs
Industrial and technical experience
Research and Development (R&D) projects
University teaching experience
Membership in professional and scientific associations
Scientific, technological, and innovation awards
Participation in international projects and collaborations
Assessment Process

Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Employment certificates
Professional training certificates
Project portfolios
Professional activity reports
Published scientific articles
Patents and inventions
Professional recommendation letters
Membership certificates from professional organizations
Following an initial review, the applicant's portfolio will be evaluated by the University's Academic and Professional Assessment Committee.
Where necessary, applicants may be invited to participate in an academic and professional interview to assess their competencies, expertise, and learning achievements in greater detail.
Assessment Outcomes
Upon completion of the evaluation process, the University may:
Grant academic credit for demonstrated learning achievements;
Recognize specific competencies equivalent to university-level learning outcomes;
Exempt the applicant from selected coursework requirements;
Provide access to graduate or postgraduate study pathways;
Recommend supplementary courses or bridging modules where necessary;
Recognize professional achievements and experiential learning as part of eligibility for advanced academic standing.
Quality Assurance
All assessments are conducted through documented evidence, professional interviews, and academic evaluation by qualified faculty members and subject matter experts.
The award of academic credit, including recognition toward Master's or Doctoral-level studies, is only possible when the applicant's demonstrated learning outcomes meet the academic standards, competencies, and educational expectations required at the corresponding university level.
Institutional Commitment
TITU is committed to recognizing the value of professional knowledge, practical expertise, innovation, and lifelong learning. Through its Recognition of Prior Learning framework, the University seeks to provide flexible, competency-based educational opportunities for professionals worldwide.
We believe that experience, innovation, and continuous learning are among the most important drivers of scientific, technological, economic, and social development in the twenty-first century.
